Nosferatu - Murnau's vampire classic -plus Henze

In this cold and gloomy weather, settle in and enjoy this, F W Murnau's Nosferatu, the greatest vampire movie of them all. It was made in 1921 when some of the scenes pictured were within living memory. There were people around born in 1840! Like the peasants, some of whom still lived like that, though these are clearly actors. And the gardens, set out in 19th century style. And even if the harbour scenes were shot in studio, there were still people who remembered sailing ships. And Max Schreck as the vampire! No wonder a legend grew that he was a vampire in real life. Can be watched full screen. Soundtrack and English titles are later, which spoil the effect, but still, you can watch fullscreen with the sound off and the room dark.
AND scroll down or search on Henze - new and excellent article added !
