Pierre Boulez turns 90 on 26th March. On Sunday 18th January, a special concert will be broadcast on arte.tv.
François-Xavier Roth conducts the SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg with Pierre-Laurent Aimard. It was with this orchestra that Boulez began the major part of his conducting career, on the recommendation of Hans Rosbaud. He still lives in the vicinity, so perhaps he will be in the audience.
