Fox and Rabbit Orchestra

Look at this orchestra ! Fox beating a drum,, chimpanzee playing cymbals, the rabbit is carrying baskets of offerings. They are all walking uphill to meet the Buddhist monk who is a pig. Look at the photographer in the back, looking back on the onlookers. Amazing place, this. Click on photo to enlarge (it's worth it)

Fantastic! I wish I could have seen Tiger Balm Gardens. I believe the one in Singapore is still open.

The Singapore one is bigger and well maintained, but I love the HK one because it's so crazy. It was closed and neglected for years but has now been re opened. I might do more about Aw Boon Haw who built, his crazy fantasies for all the world to see. He was probably clinically nuts but a genuine philanthropist who really cared about the effect modern life had on people. That's why he's always moralizing, demons in hell etc. In real life, he helped save HK from starvation during the Japanese occupation but he didn't get any credit for that because it would have shown up the British. It's a big story.

Ooh... I didn't know that the HK garden had reopened. I'll definitely pay a visit on my upcoming trip.

I'd love to know more about Aw Boon Haw.
