Stockhausen Stimmung


Stockhausen's greatest hit, judging from the number of times this pops up in concert (3 this year at least) It is fun for singers because it's so different. This particular performance wasa bit too "Episcopalian" for me, churchy, not much danger or savagery. But I felt like thinking about the piece a bit more

Roads, your article is wonderful - where did you get that photo of the penthouse flashing lights ? Stockhausen himself was at the Stimmung performance when it was held in that penthouse, and he loved the way the sunset changed while the singing was going on, ending in night.....Please post that photo if it's yours !
